A Museum for the 21st Century is a hypothetical addition to the Kulturforum in Berlin. It reimagines how we circulate through a museum and experience the exhibits within. Departing from the commonly expected experience of walking from curated room-to-room, A Museum for the 21st Century embraces the consuming influence of digital technology. Upon entering the museum, personal data is extracted from each visitors smartphone to inform an algorithm that produces individually curated exhibits in real-time. Visitors experience these exhibits along moving walkways in the form of immersive digital projections. A Museum for the 21st Century isn’t necessarily representative of an ideal, but rather, the current and future state of media consumption in the Information Age.
